Lexus IS350 F
Hi All,
I am one month away from returning my beloved 2016 IS350 F-Sport. Had Autovin come out to do a pre-inspection and called out my dinged windshield saying i need it repaired. AutoVIN is quoting me $995 to get it replaced by factory. Does anyone know if Lexus will accept a non-OEM windshield for leases or am I better off getting the original Lexus glass? If so anyone know a good place in SoCal? I got quotes today from yelp for over $1k for original glass which makes it easier to to just have the dealer do it when I return the car.
Let me know any suggestions to save a few bucks.

All I can say is that when I picked up my old certified Acura TSX about 10yrs ago, the windshield had a chip in it. They insisted in using an aftermarket windshield from PPG, claiming PPG made the Honda/Acura windshields, and that is all they use. PPG was about $250-300 (if I recall), and Genuine Acura was about $850. The Acura piece had an Acura logo in the corner, PPG did not. I had to put up about $500 to get the Genuine windshield. I didn't have the time or resources to find out if PPG and Acura was the same exact quality .. the brand logo is confidence in quality.
My one concern with looping in insurance is they will go with Safelite or some other OEE (Equivalent) glass.Which Lexus Financial will reject and charge me there cost for new original glass.
I have always told the insurance NO, factory glass only! They ***** and moan, but I have never been refused. Worth a try, nothing to lose and you may save some $$$.
