Looking to buy this but I’m not good at installing things in cars. Is this something I can bring to a custom audio shop to have installed without issues?

So what do you guys think (the ones who has had it for a while). Is it ready for prime time or still has quirks and bugs? I like the look but if it’s buggy, sloggish or no path to upgrade the ram or OS I’m hesitant to spend over 850$ for it.

lol it’s a android tablet essentially. Course you can’t upgrade the ram and is os. Maybe you’re able to update the firmware but that’s about it.

This is correct. Firmware/software can be updated, but hardware is what it is. I don’t know why you would want more and more RAM and processing power for your car screen? I find it’s worth it but the software is still a little buggy, but nothing that’s a deal breaker.

Default got it!

Hi all, just got mine installed from 4x4 inside my is200t. so far so good. I tethered my phone and got Waze and Google maps working.
Any recommendations for better offline GPS navigation? I don't want to run up my phone data. Is sygic the best one?

Your data should be fine unless you are using the terrain view on Google maps. Waze hardly uses any data.

In Google maps you can just download the maps locally to your phone. It allows you to select a region and it downloads it so it won’t use data. I do this all the time when travelling to other countries to avoid having to have a data plan.

Yes or you can do this. Most people won't be bothered for shorter trips. My point was that it doesn't take up much data (streaming music uses more).

Is everyone happy with the implementation?

Is this compatible with a 2014 NAV unit with a joy stick?

Did you find a fix for this. Sorry had some family medical issues so haven't been on here for a while. Happens to me to still. Did you by any chance reach out to 4x4? I'm about to.

Now that it's available for Nav users, I am hesitant to move forward considering the "bugs" that have plagued those on here. I see there is a $50 upcharge for Nav, so I'm assuming that has to do with a wiring harness. I sent a message to Fred, and I'm hoping he responds so that I can ask how they solved it, and if they ever will have an install video up. Also, they are charging $100 for the Carplay dongle...and I see you can get them for about $50-60 on AMZ/ebay.

@Droth - Let us know how it goes for you!

For sure let us know how it goes, I want to pull the trigger on this as well. Hopefully the jog stick works well with the unit.
