Lightbulb 2018 Lexus 300is F TMPS ID Code Registration

I just bought a 2018 300is F Sport and plan to purchase some after market rims and snow tires...In the Lexus user manual it say's

"The tire pressure warning valve and transmitter is equipped with a unique ID code. When replacing a tire pressure warning valve and transmitter, it is necessary to register the ID code. Have the ID code registered by your Lexus.

My question ...is this necessary or can most tire installers deal with this matter to avoid false readings? I plan on using after market TMPS's either Schrader or ITM...Anybody had an experience they can share?

Welcome to the forum mannie! And fellow canuck!

A well equipped tire shop should have the tools to program your aftermarket sensors.
If you plan to switch between the sets of tires (winter and summer), then I would suggest getting some documentation of the Lexus OEM ID numbers.
The tire shop will likely be able to pull the ID numbers from the sensors using the same tool mentioned above, so that way you can have all 8 ID numbers in hand.
It just makes it easier to program in the future if the ID codes are available...it's not a must, just a nice 'to have'. They can do it either way, just takes a little longer if you have to read each sensor and then program each one.

most tire shops should be able to do it. However, keep in mind that for some people, aftermarket sensors don’t show pressures on the dash. I use Autel sensors on my winters. There’s a member here that used shrader but had the same problem. We just deal with it and are fine not seeing pressures.

with my te37 wheels, i'm going with used PMV-C010 sensors from ebay ($68 for a set of four). should work fine and they're OEM. most tire shop can program them. or just write down the ID and find someone with a techstream tool =)
