Default Is it worth it?

Would like to know the disadvantages and advantages of purchasing a salvage car and if it's worth it. Thinking about selling my 14CT F sport and getting a 15/16 IS 200t/250 F-Sport (what should I expect to pay? Looking at around 24-26k for a 2015 IS250 F sport (about 30k-40kmiles) in my area depending on packages)
This is just one car that I saw posted and wanted your thoughts.

From what I know:
2016 IS 200t F-Sport
12.5K miles
Atomic silver/Roja interior
Navi/LFA inspired TFT
Seller notes: Salvage due to door damage on passenger side, no issues at all..
*Seems like seller fixed damaged area
asking: $25k

There's no "seems." Either he did or he didn't. Ask for before and after pics and verify in person too. Make sure a good shop fixed it, research that shop.

Also just know you are going to go from 40 mpg to 20mpg. I know cause I did the same swap. CT to IS200t.

A rebuilt title or a salvage title? A rebuilt title is fine as long as you can assure that the damage was properly fixed and you know that if you try to sell it later it will be much harder and you won’t get as much as a clean title. Most states require a state inspection in order to get the rebuilt title showing it was properly fixed. Also one advantage here in GA for a rebuilt title is that they tax the car at the ACTUAL purchase price so if you guys agree to a number tell the seller to write you a bill of sale with a much lower sale price just so you can pay much less on sales tax IF it works the same way in your state.

Seems like a lot of $ for salvage. But i was shopping 12-14 years.
Something happens to the car (not the fault of another driver) and you're out all that 25k.....insurance wont cover.

It depends on the damages on the vehicle and it will vary case by case.

Personal experience, I have had great sucess.
Bought a 2016 IS200t for ~$15K with 11K miles a few months ago.
My car was flooded from hurricane Harvey (rebuilt title), water didn't reach the interior and I went through the entire car before buying it.
So far its been rock solid, zero physical damages other than small curb rash from previous 1st owner.

There are a few salvage/rebuilt titled 3IS-200t/250/350s that go between $17K - $22K in my area (Houston, TX), usually with mileage near 25K.
Some data for you to gauge. These prices are usually completely repaired and ready to drive cars.
My personal rule for prices on salvaged titles: 50-75% of the most comparable used clean title equivalent. (Might be horrible advice or not applicable).

Its always a gamble, your experience could be greatly different than mine.
Would I do it again? HELL YES

Im from houston too. When I went car shopping, i specifically avoided flood vehicles. You got a great price, but im always wary of electrical gremlins that can pop up after.

I'll keep the CT.

Its discontinue in the US, and I think its a pretty solid car.

Good trunk space, better than the IS, great mpg, more or less the same options vs. the IS.

Also looks good if its an FSPORT!

Always wanted one for a second car.

Keep the CT. Sometimes I think the CT F-Sport would have been the better option for me. My IS trunk drives me crazy when I have to put anything but grocery bags in it.

The other day I tried loading a broom from home depot into the trunk of my IS. i had to play a quick game of tetris trying to figure out how to put it in. Baaaaarely fit. I miss the CT cargo area though. Or that experience in general. Fun to sit in the back too and just chill. And especially the experience of opening the hatch. feels quite high quality.
