Default Fitment Advice/Feedback for my setup

Hi All,

I have finally pulled the trigger to get some new wheels; its been a good 33K miles on stocks lol.

I've placed an order on these, Rohana RFX5 in 19 x 8.5 + 35mm (squared).
http://rohanawheels.com/rohana-wheel/rfx5/

Wondering if you guys have any feedback on what tire specs to purchase for these wheels. I've seen lots of comments that 235/35/19 would be best fitted, but it also depends on brands of tires, I believe.

So far, I've ask a few of my resources, and was quoted,

Michelin PSS - $236 ea
Hankook v12 evo2 - $147.40 ea

Any suggestions or feedback greatly appreciated.

235/35/19 is fine at stock height or even with a mild to moderate drop.

Nice wheels btw!

What's the weight? I'm guessing since it's not listed on their website, it's probably not a track wheel. I guess my point is I'd go with the Hankooks as they'll provide 95% of the performance as the PSS at a fraction of the price. If it's for a daily driver, especially!

Also check out the Firehawk Indy 500s. They're a super star of a tire, and happen to be one of the cheapest price wise.

Thanks!

Car is dropped on fsport springs/shocks, very mild drop. Hopefully fitment won't be an issue!

The wheels aren't track wheels for sure. But they are rotary forged, I would image they weight the same or a bit less than stocks. Weight not a huge problem. I don't track the car, its my DD.

Hankooks were my first choice as they are pretty cheap, and decently reviews on tirerack.

PPS are over $900 for a set.. =\

I have the hankook v12s on my car and I honestly can’t complain for the price. One thing to note is that the tire life isn’t great, I have to replace my tires already and it hasn’t been a year yet but that’s to be expected from a performance summer tire

I have the hankook v12 evo2 tires and agree tire life is not too good. Traction is average also depending on what you drive. With my IS350 on Semi hard pulls it triggers the traction light often. I upgraded to the new continental compact sport 5p tires which are much better but priced around the pss price.

How would yall compare the Hankooks with IS350 fsport stock bridgestone tires?

I ran 33k miles on them (first set too).

I'm more interested in tire life, since thats one of the main reasons I'm going squared to rotate tires.

I did not get much out of the OEM Bridgestones around 16k miles on them compared to the Hankooks which were 22k miles. I drive my is350 hard about 70% of the time so your tire life might be more.

I have 12k miles on my hankook v12s and need to replace already. I took the oem wheels off around 10k and they have plenty of life left

I'll just give the Hankooks a go.

~$600 for a decently good tires (better than oem, I feel), I can't complain.

It should be good enough for DD and I don't drive hard either lol.

And now since I can rotate tires with a square setup, I'm sure they will last quite some time.

I'm lowered on the lexus aftermarket fsport springs and shocks (blue ones). It's about 1 inch drop all around.

not sure if 245 would clear.

Definitely check out Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s. They're the new "V12s." Several years newer technology and priced very well.

I have them currently and they're very sticky. This is coming from a former 3x MPSS user.

I'm actually getting a set for my rears tomorrow. I have the fronts already. (damn staggered wear)

They're around $600 for a set (18" F Sport stock size). installed.

You mean the factory option Blue F Sport springs AND factory option Lexus/Bilstein dampers?

If so you have the best suspension on the planet for this car. how do you like it?!
