The IS is not going away anytime soon, RWD compact sport sedan is too important a segment to be left out of for any luxury carmaker. In fact, there is now rumours of a new engine 2.4 turbo for the new IS, meaning there will/might be different offerings of motor for same model, can hardly wait!.

Today early press photos have been released of the refreshed 2019 Lexus RC, I wonder if any of these updates will make its way to the new IS. For instance check out the track pad and how it’s located in these pics. I wonder if the new IS Gen 4 will get this same type track pad which will be needed for Apple car play. I think these refreshed RC pics looks nice especially a much needed interior updates.

The RC had the track pad before the refresh. If anything the changes to the RC interior are more along the lines of the '17 IS refresh.

Am I the only one that notices zero differences between that "refresh" and the existing RC? lol

They're all very subtle differences. Look at the vents - there's a silver trim piece running through the middle of them now, but the top and bottom are blacked out. The clock also looks different.

I like the exterior updates though. No more bear claws on the rear bumper!

They also cleaned up the center console around the a/c unit by adding that leather bolstering wrap instead of just bare metal plate. It looks much better, Yet I think the IS got this same thing when they updated the Navi screen size.

The interior got the same type of updates as the IS did in 2017. They are subtle but I think make it look a touch more premium. Exterior changes are obvious (front and rear lights are the biggest changes).

Corrected myself -- 2016 gets the upgraded/updated subframe and diff. Not 2015. Of course. makes sense it would happen on a major update year.

Does anyone know when we might see the first spy camouflaged photo of the new IS? Early 2019 possible? Or Summer? Don’t we usually see new renderings in Japan magazines first?

We don't even know for certainty that there will be a new IS...

2019 IS will be the same ! new design ? in my opinion i think the current design is SO COOL AND NICE already, not just cool but current design is Unique and no match to others, another reason i like Toyota/Lexus designer guys, they knew what i'm thinking in my head. I hope they'll keep this current design for another 6 years
