LED Headlight modification
Has anyone modded their stock LED headlights on their 3is? Not sure if you can open the lens and add demon eyes to the led headlights or not. Looking to do some modifications to my lighting and wanted to ask before i take the time to separate my lens. Does anyone have any pictures of the led headlights taken apart for reference?

Of course you can open/modify them just like any other Lexus/Toyota headlight. you'll need to bake them and use a resealing compound (usually you don't but you can't always predict if there will be enough glue or glue in the right spots once you're done.) you have to do this really carefully and experience helps to know how to maneuver,re-seal and not break stuff. i've probably done like 10 cars, most new, and some new lexus and toyota models. not bad.

Though those mods demon eyes etc aren't the mods you want to be doing. (there's another mod out there not too many may know about) I'd do it but too close to the end of my lease to care.
for performance minded only. no "demon" eyes or "angel" eyes or rings, gimmicks etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've read on this forum that the Lexus IS headlights are particularly difficult to get open and modify.
Someone who was very experienced, managed to do a pair but said it was a pain.
Perhaps why we don't see very many headlights mods.

Lots of people do it with heat guns, just make sure your moving the heat gun around and not leaving it in one spot - I posted a thread on the 2IS forum about opening up the 2012 LED headlights and recieved many responses - 270* for 7 minutes was one of them - make sure to remove all wiring harnesses if baking the headlight in oven

Look at 14+ Corolla LED projectors if you want to get some ideas. I made a pair of custom projector fog lights out of corolla OEM LED headlight parts and the beam pattern, shape, color, intensity, distance, etc is 100% identical to our pre-facelift 3IS headlight units. you're going to have your projector then a bezel which likely clips or screws onto the headlight exterior lense. it's not really rocket science.
