I have a 2016 lexus IS300. last week I finally put on after market wheels and my local wheel shop installed a generic aftermarket TPM sensor on them. For some reason, after reset thru the ECU as well as the under dash reset button. The TPM yellow light clears but the dash only shows - - - on all four wheels. No PSI information.

Was told you have to drive above 80km for 10m, or takes a few days, well it has been like 5 days and nothing has changed. I went to Lexus and not much help either as they will only investigate if I use genuine TPM sensors. So before I switch out the after market TPM and puchase Lexus ones does anyone know more as to what this is happening?

The wheel shop tells me they have been doing this using the same TPM for all model and makes even lexus, never had any issue pairing them (they even have a hand held meter that does confirm detect the sensors. I have a friend who has a 2015 Lexus and he also purchase after market TPM for his wheels in the summer and paired perfectly, drives off the lot and sensor kicks in after a few minutes.

So what am I missing here? Has lexus changed the TPM device code such that the only way is to have lexus program them?

Lexus charges 60.00 to pair/program the TPM. dont want to go this route unless I can figure this out on my end
