Anyone here come from Acura
#32
Unfortunately it has the same lousy ZF 9-speed that I had problems with in 2015. There are so many good choices out there with actual working transmissions I wouldn't come near this car no matter how much they try to dress it up.

I come from the super rare Acura ZDX.
I know it's pretty different since it's an SUV, but I have to admit that Lexus is much better for the price you're paying...
Much more reliable too

Sorry for late on this I owned a 2004 TSX for 5 years before switching to a 2009 subaru STI, a 2011 Venza and now a 2016 IS300. during my cross shop, I was very disappointed in the TLX as the over all feel inside was just like a loaded accord which my mother has and I have driven it many times. I use to love the TSX as they set the benchmark in entry class luxury and felt I got more equipment/comfort for the dollar, yet the TLX went back wards, I felt for the price it was severely lacking and they have lost touch to what was once a superb product line up.
While I have not test driven the TLX as one of the reason I stopped considering it because of my wife's preference in the audio options, we fell in love with the ML audio in the lexus. You gota make the wife happy first. I did test drove the IS before purchase and I was extremely happy with the way it handles and how precise the steering were. I have friends who owns a 3rd gen IS as well and during track days it can hold its own around the cones and short sprints.
perhaps not everyone agrees and it can be so subjective, yet I love the IS and the only next car I am interested in would be an ISF version.

I've made the jump myself.
Previously owned '94 Acura Integra (130k), '00 VW GTI (125k), '04 Acura TSX (170k), '14 Acura RLX (48k). I traded in the RLX and picked up a '15 IS250 F Sport AWD. The Acura's that I have owned were not bad cars, but with that said I wanted to jump after owning the RLX. Considering that the RLX is Acura's flagship car, the car had a major issue with HFL draining the battery. It's a known issue with the cars, but Acura refused to issue a recall. The car was comfortable with plenty of power but I was search for something sportier. After test driving a '15 TLX and the IS, I made up my mind and here I am

I had a 2004 Acura TL manual, loved that car! No real issues and good looking. Wife wanted something new so we bought a 2014 MDX and had issues the whole time of ownership. Rattles, brakes, nav issues, transmission....on on and on..Towards the end of our ownership the dealer put more miles on it than we did because of all the issues. Acura would not replace the tranny, just drain/fill and reprogram. We traded it for our current 2015 IS350 f sport and haven't looked back. We had been a toyota/Lexus family in the past, ( Celica, 3 4runners, GS430, ES 350 ) but got the MDX because there were too many RX's driving around...for good reason. I feel sorry for the person that bought that MDX after we traded it....

It's a nice body kit and don't get me wrong it's a decent car... I just think the IS is a lot better. I also feel Acura's new grill is worse than their revised beak. I'm looking forward to what the next gen TLX will be like though.

From the introduction of the new RDX, Acura might be heading into the right direction. Will see how the new platforms pans out for the TLX, MDX and ILX.

I am also curious to see what Acura will do for next...hoping they don't discontinue the V6 engine like Honda did with the Accord.
#40
They most likely discontinued the V6 due to CAFE standards. Same reason why Toyta RAV4 doesn't have a V6 anymore. But if Trump gets rid of CAFE standards, should help V6's make a comeback haha
#41
Even if Trump did relaxed CAFE standard, not get rid, most of the manufacturer won't abide to the relaxation. Auto manufacturers invested too much money on engine R&D. They'll push forward and cater to the global market not just the US.
#42
doubt it... engine technology is already moving forward and the turbo 4's are putting out decent power w/ good fuel economy.

I was an Acura guy until I had my 2015 Lexus IS350 (F). I started my love with Acura with a 2007 TSX, a 2009 TSX, a 2012 TL SH-AWD, g/f had a 2013 RDX and a 2014 ILX....then teh TLX came along and its ****ty ZF unit kept me away so I got my 1st Lexus. I am now on my 2nd Lexus but I must admit that seeing the 2019 RDX is getting me excited about the FMC of the TLX with a Type S coming. I love the upscale look of the Lexus but prefered the suspension tuning of Acuras - More stiffer

Thanks Solara350!
Corolla gave me around 36 MPG with a 12-13 gallon tank. I drive from MA to PA quite a bit and was able to get there in half tank of gas. The TL was horrible- I believe average was 20 MPG or less. The 350 F sport can't be compared to the Corolla but is definitely better than the TL. On a full tank I can get anywhere between 320-340 miles out of it driving both city and highway.
