Hey everyone. I just wanted to share an inexpensive mod I recently did to my IS250 in order to improve its night time appearance. Got the idea from Mercedes' Illuminated Star, and after failing to locate an illuminated Lexus emblem big enough for the front of the current-gen IS, I decided to illuminate the grille surround instead. The spindle grille is such an important design aspect in any Lexus, it's unfortunate that they simply disappear at night. Also, I sorta got tired of seeing all these Mercedes-Benzes driving around with illuminated stars, I wanted to make Lexus stand out too.

To do this, I simply bought EL Wire and an extension. I wedged the sewing edge around the gap between the grille and the bumper itself and wired it to the interior of my car. Power comes from the DC outlet, however wiring it into the fuse is definitely doable. There's even a video that shows exactly how to go about doing it. All in, I spent about $20.
