Here is the video, I recorded two parts, when the car is cold, in various modes, and then when the car was warm, in various modes, with HVAC off. Temperature today here is about ~45 degrees Fahrenheit/ ~ 7 degrees Celsius. The higher pitched rattling I think is an interior plastic trim piece that is vibrating from the low rumbling. I also put my phone (what I was recording on), against the steering wheel to give you guys a better idea as to what the vibration is like.
In regards to the new mounts, I ended purchasing aftermarket, which i'm starting to realize may have been the mistake. If worst comes to worst, I will purchase OEM mounts and replace them again.
As for the whistling sound, yes I do hear it but from browsing the forums most if not all people said it was normal.
The pictures attached show the engine mount that was replaced that was on the passenger side. As you can see there was a lot of wear on one specific part of that mount.
I sore your video, and I have the same problem with my GS350 3.5 V6, but only in the colder months, and like you - it vibrates at idle in gear, but only without the air conditioning on.
Once I put it in N or P, it idles smoothly.
Likewise, if I turn on the air conditioning, this bumps up the idle speed, and the vibration in the colder months in gear is gone.
Even when the engine is warm, the idle is still rough.
Interestingly, this rough idle in gear does NOT occur in the warmer months.
My 3.5 idle roughness is bad, and it is by far the roughest idling V6 I have ever owned in the past 30 years - however, it doesn't idle in gear quite as roughly as yours.
I took it to the dealer, and I asked them to check and replace the engine mounts, but they did nothing, and said it was normal, but they told me to bring the vehicle back if it persists, or if it gets worse.
A year later, I took it back to the dealer for the same problem again, and they said that there was some TSB to fix this common problem.
Lexus explained to me that the problem was the air sensor was "dirty", and they cleaned the air sensor, and this bumped up the idle speed by just a small amount, and the rough idle was mostly gone, and far more bearable and pleasant.
However, some months later, the air sensor must have become dirty again, as my 3.5 V6 began to idle roughly again.
When it really annoys me, I just put it in N.
I must find out from the dealer how to clean this air sensor, or whatever it is, by myself.
Interestingly, one of my staff members owns a Camry 3.5 V6, and this rough idle does not occur at all.
I suspect the transverse layout is better able to absorb the vibrations in the 3.5 V6.
However, there are stories that the RX suffers the same rough idle.
I've never had as rough an idle with my 2.5 and 3.0 V6's - supposedly because the smaller capacities have lower reciprocating mass, hence are naturally smoother.
When V6's become too large in capacity, balance shafts are required to help smooth out the vibrations.
There is a post above saying that switching to Economy mode changes the idle speed, and improves the idle smoothness - I find this to be NOT true for my GS350; I find my GS350 idles at the same speed, with the same roughness, regardless of being in Economy, Normal, Sport or Sport +...

peteharvey, I think we have different issues then. The rumble I experience happens at around 1000 or so RPM, when the engine is still warming up. Thus, dropping it into Eco mode causes the RPMs to go down, and completely eliminates the vibration. I don't have any vibration at lower RPM, and idle seems smooth.

I've never heard of such a thing.

my issue is same as yours, after car warm engine smooths out, ya the noise sounds like supercharge but just little, i hear in most 3.5L V6 Lexus IS AWD

Im home with my PC better speakers, ya looks like its Engine Mounts + the pictures of cracks on your mount, have performed visual check when you shift gear and Rev for Engine movements ? if engine moves like crazy you might as well replace transmission mount and rear mount if IS350 has one.
Engine mount is part of powertrain warranty Dealership replace them for free if your car still under warranty, (do you have Aftermarket performance Exhaust or Muffler axle back? sometimes it hits against the car thus makes car rumbling and vibrating) in addition, use Top gas tier and Synthetic Engine oil, like other said as i also stated, your car still a new generation you should have visited dealership 1st, you don't have to fix just let them inspect and give you a list, the only way to make sure whats wrong is "certified Lexus tech physically check" they built Lexus they should know better, mechanic shops out there mostly tries to Rip us off and most of them DO NOT FIX Luxury cars often, i know tons of Mechanics here in Toronto Ontario area, most of them either fool or Youtube Google like us, on ClubLexus we TALK our WAY, ya at their SHOP they talks THEIR WAY but we own the CAR we care for our car, they don't care.
Myself had problem with my own Lexus here and i REGRET IT that I DID NOT BRING to my Dealership "KENSHAW" Lexus to fix, maybe 200$-300$ dollars more BUT THEY DO PERFECT JOB with Customer Satisfaction, same as WHEEL ALIGNMENT, here Dealership charge 150$ but we will happy with SPECS, they also Full Wash your car and vacuum. When i hear you brought to local mechanic shop i fell some headache for ya. Hopefully they finds your issue and get them fixed.

.
To clarify bro, Air Sensor = i think they meant "MAF sensor "Mass Air Flow"
1st, Roughness idle could cause by anything related to Air, Sensor,Injectors, fuel, vacuum hoses, engine mounts, ABS Module and EGR, sometimes lose Performance or aftermarket Exhaust system can makes car vibrate when muffler hits against the body, increase your idle won't help as i know V6+ Toyota/Lexus vehicles are very precision and sensitive, even Brakes (if no OEM they will make noises)
2, You're right, every of 3,5L V6 Lexus IS/GS has this annoying idling, lets go back to my old 2011 IS350 AWD, i had IS250 AWD 1st and didn't have this issue, in the cold day 2011 IS350 RUMBLED like crazy and LEANED forward i had to pressed the brake HARD or it will hit the car in front, thats why i never stopped close to bumper in the cold days, scared me in the 1st couple times, i did went on Clublexus and asked and seeing people with 350 has the same issue.
3, So i tried to get the know the 3.5L V6 Direct injection of Lexus, did a ton of research and read a lot about "Lean forward in gear D at stop and Rumble" i found out that this type of Engine need to WARM UP before you put in Gear D, so i performed a test, picked a very cold day and let it warm up for 10 minutes when the idle really drops to 600-700 RPM and see, like the old folks did to Toyota Camry V6 in the 90s , ok now lets drive it to stop Light and see, WOW stopped smooth drive Smooth and Strong its like the 3.5l engine telling me "i am ready to race master"
4, On Youtube or Google i saw people either DON'T own a 3.5L Lexus Toyota saying that "We don't need to warm up the car, older cars in the 90s needs but newer cars don't" ive been driven V6 Toyota Lexus all my LIFE i know they do need warm up regardless of years, my 2005 Acura TL didn't need, my Lexus NX i4 cylinders didn't need, those Civics and Corolla don't need, my 2018 Toyota RAV4 don't need, my Toyota Solara n IS350 needs, do a test give it 10 minutes and see if it change, use Synthetic engine oil if you live in the cold country like me, everything need to be set and warm up even HUMAN, before we work out play Basketball or Soccer we warm up too didnt we ? the engine need sometime to Pump up oil check idle and sensors Gas and injectors, don't care other Cars but V6 Toyota LExus needs warm up, i had my 2001 TRD Toyota SOlara V6 for 16 years with Original Engine/Transmission everything pretty much OEM except engine mounts bushing and endlinks Original Paint too, (NO RUST hey NO RUST) V6 Mustang Mercedes or BMW (same year 2001) wanna race ? sorry not a chance my TRD will smoked them
