I am also having this issue. But it also happens without the usb. Sometimes my Navi freezes, my rear view camera stays on, radio/Navi reboots while driving, mouse pad freezes.
I'm currently waiting on a replacement radio, luckily I'm still under warranty

Hello I'm having the same issue when plugging the usb drive in to the port, radio reboots. Its like its trying to build the playlist for the usb drive so you can browse thru it but then it crashes when it trys to build it. What was the outcome with yours when you took it in for service?

I've ran into that problem when I was using 2 usb devices at the same time, possibly using too much power? I had my hdmi to rca converter and the iphone lightning to hdmi dongle plugged in at the same time. the moment i used the iphone dongle my radio would freeze and reboot. wound up putting the dongle on my multiport usb. I havent had a problem with it so far.
Are you using both USB ports at the same time?

What are you actually plugging into the USB port?
a USB flash drive?
What file system format is it?
I would format to FAT32 if it's not and see if that helps.
Most cars stereos should be able to read that format. Other formats could possible freak it out

I had this happen on my 2017 IS 300. I usually don’t plug in my iPhone to the USB port and never had a problem. However a few weeks ago I plugged it in on my way to work and I had my head unit go into a boot loop and then after the 4th reboot it came back. I don’t have any music stored on my phone as I use Spotify.
I mentioned this to my dealer at the last servicing I had done and they just said there is no software update available yet. Didn’t seem like there was much they could do at this point. It’s obviously some sort of software bug.

I also have a 2017 IS 300 F-Sport and seem to have developed a rattle in the same area you describe when going over bumps. Just started in past two weeks. Next time I have a passenger I will try to pin point where it is coming from.
Also noticing a high pitch whine sound from my Ac/heating fan when it is blowing on almost high. If I turn it up or down it goes away. Somewhat annoying.
Funny enough both issues started after I had my 16km servicing.
I also suffer from the head unit rebooting randomly. Happened 3 times in the past 2 weeks.
i swear I have had more of these annoying issues with this “quality Lexus” than I have had in any other car.
