Default tear in drivers side carpet

Thoughts on how hard of a fix this would be, if possible?

not sure why it bugs me. What's even crazier is that foot rest is all styrofoam underneath

Wow I would expect that in a 5+ year old car... even older. They would need to replace entire carpet as it's one piece. I know some people have used patch kits... question why not put a rubber Mat down?

Interesting. Looks similar to mine but not the same. See link below. Haven't done anything about mine as of yet.

That's surely odd. Did you get the car new? I would not expect that to happen in any car. I had a 1987 3-Series with 240,000 miles with perfect carpet. Thick, plush, bulletproof. how does this happen on a new car? I wonder if maybe a high heel user or some other driver with rough shoes somehow stabbed it? even then.. i dont get it.

Modern cars use very thin, light carpet for weight savings.

The RWD and AWD driver side mats are different sizes because the AWD version has a hump near the center console.
