2014 IS 350 Evaporator Drain Tube Location
I have searched, but the question has yet to be answered.
I drive a 2014 IS 350 that was originally sold in Florida and has the dreaded musty, mildew-like smell that most owners complain about. I can only imagine that since the vehicle defaults to recirculate mode, it has caused a ton of mold issues on the evaporator coils. I purchased the foaming 2-step kit, but for the life of me cannot find the drain tube! I can pinpoint it to somewhere above the middle of the transmission after letting it run and following the water trail, but it definitely is not visible or accessible. Even with removing the cross brace near the rear of the transmission I am unable to snake my arm far enough to reach any sort of drain tube. Has anyone successfully located the drain tube on their 3rd Gen IS? I really do not want to go through the hassle of fighting with the dealership (even though I still have some mileage left on my warranty).
Thanks in advance
- Joe

As in needing to remove the fender liner to access it? that cannot be the termination point for it (at least on my IS 350), as no water comes from that location. I will take a look and see what I come up with. Thanks for the quick reply!

There's a pic here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...e-mold-bo.html (see post #7)
That's where the drain goes through the floor. The hose likely terminates to the side of the transmission, probably the passenger side.
At least you can start where the hole in the floor is and follow it from there.

You could run the car on the hoist and see where the A/C water is coming out from. I don't think they would let it drip directly onto the tranny, likely the hose diverts it slightly to one side...typically the passenger side.
