F Sport grill on non F Sport model
Has anyone tried installing an F Sport front grill on the base model 3IS?
If so, is it just a matter of ordering the grill and replacing the current one or modifications needs to be done to the bumper?

You would have to replace the entire bumper, grill, grill surround, and the fender liner if you don't want to have a gap. There's a few threads on the topic that have the part numbers required to do the conversion. If you do a search on the forums I'm sure you'll find the threads.
