Default Random issue(s)

Yesterday I was heading out to do some errands and started the car - "key not detected" lit up. It went away after less than a minute and I went about my business thinking "it's a fluke". Made a couple of stops and the message didn't pop up again.

This morning I start the car to head to the store, "key not detected" lit up again, this time the radio also had static. Car beeped like when you walk away from the car with the key in hand. After the beeping stopped, the radio static disappeared.

When I started the car to leave the store no message popped up, but, when I got home and tried to open the garage with Homelink, the garage door wouldn't open.

Any ideas what could be going on????

Side note - I replaced the key fob battery a couple of months ago.

Have you tried using your other key? It would help narrow it down to key or car error.

I had to find it. But I'm using it now. We'll see how it goes.

First thought is that it might be the car battery.
Second thought, all these issues are unrelated. There's a certain sequence of actions that will make you get the key not detected notification. I couldn't even tell you how to do it because I haven't figured it out.

Sounds like low voltage issues. Similar things happen with other cars that have smart keys when the car battery gets low.
