Is it safe to assume that 2017 models will be unaffected by all this? I feel it's mentioned above but would like to clarify.

Some 2014-2015, that's it. Others are not at risk.

Update: I have my car since this September and when I asked the dealer, it turned out that this recall was already done to my car in August. Absolutely makes sense, since I live in an area, where the roads are extremely salted during the winter.
No bodywork though, I guess it was just the resealing that was done.

Just got my '14 checked this morning, they said it looks good nothing needed to be done. So I'm in the clear for this now right?

Just got my car back 5 mins ago at Erin Mills Lexus. I got the same description as above but service adviser told me that they had sprayed something under the wheel wells?

This is ****ing brutal. Everyone calling OP spoiled is an *******. I've had major work like this done on a few cars and they NEVER go back together properly. There will be squeaks or rattles or some issue every single time. I only have my IS 350 because my Corolla had work done and it rattled and squeeked and they refused to do anything about it. It drove me insane, now this. **** Lexus these cars are expensive as hell and they have so many issues.

Go buy a BMW then, you'll know what real issues are!

Had the recall check done today. Happy to say that after 3 years of harsh Edmonton winters, no rust was found. Just application of the inhibitor.

Had it done last week too, 2014 IS350 AWD Fsport, they said my car is fine no rust nothing, they vacuum clean up and wash my car, they also offered me a full inspection checked and they DID CORRECTED SOMETHING it said on the job order but with letter I don't understand but at the bottom it says 'Corrected" , they did some magic, the car now RUNS SMOOTH LIKE BRAND NEW, better IDLE better GEAR up/down SHIFT, better throttle responds, I have F-sport Exhaust, also car now drives straight and no more little vibration on the steering wheel ? they really offered me that much ? on the paper, there are 5 jobs along with the RECALL. This Lexus dealer made me love my IS350 even more next time ill pass buy and say thanks to them .

Well my last car was a 2013 Volvo S60, I know problems like no other. Still, this is a major issue. If they have to take my car apart like OP i will sell it.

Every Manufacture has some kind of problems, its up to you if you want to keep the car or not after. in the end, hopefully its getting done properly

The TSB tells us to inspect or to apply wax/sealant (ONLY if its misaligned/gaps). Mostly even if theres no rust/open gaps we always apply the wax/sealant or i seen some where they only inspect and let you be on your way.

I bought a 2014 IS250 with 79K km from the dealer early October. Dealer called me to bring in the car last week. Car is at the Dealership since last Wednesday. I'm a bit concerned but I'm currently driving their loaner. 2017 IS300. We'll see what happens...
