Should I trade in my IS for a RC
I have a 2015 IS250 that I bought last year for 35k (with tax) and put 10k down at 12k miles. I have 20k left til its paid off. I have been thinking about trading it in to a dealer (not a Lexus dealer) for a 2015 RCF350 that they listed at a little below 40k with only 10k miles. Will I be getting a good deal? Or am I just going to be throwing some more money away. I just want to hear some opinions to end my thoughts on this once and for all.

Mostly likely throwing away money.. I'm no math wiz, but it looks like you have negative equity on the car. You probably be losing ~20k if you make the trade.
Interior wise, the RC and IS are almost exactly the same. Notable differences is that the RC has that horrible track pad vs. the IS do-able remote touch mouse.
The 350 is def faster than the 250, but the RC is heavy for a coupe. I would keep the IS, being its more practical.

I've had the IS and RC both with the 3.5 and I didn't even make it a year with the RC whereas I had the IS for 2 years and getting back into one.
IMO:
IS - better interior ergonomically
RC - better exterior
My thought process was that I drive from the inside of a vehicle not the outside.

I took both out for a test drive and bought the IS. The RC felt heavier. Found out later I wasn't wrong, it's some 200lbs heavier than the IS. I tried hard to like the looks of the RC, then realized nothing in the entire Lexus lineup looks as good or balanced as the IS. The new 2door LC included, which I saw at the showroom last weekend. The only thing the LC has over the rest of the line up is the interior. You guys have to sit in one to believe. Its really amazing. Then again it's touching on a $100G's I think.

buy what you want its your money!!!
i personally would stick with the IS, its more practical. Although i hear countless people on this forum mentioned they regret getting the is250 as its lacks power which might be your reason for wanting a rc350?

If im in your position and want a coupe, I would find a used RC F (5.0 v8) for mid 40k than a RC 350. RC F has much better interior and exterior also

For the price of a RC350 you can get into a sports car that is a lot faster. That's like buying a Mustang or Camaro with a 4 banger. Me personally I like the RCF, but it needs a manual transmission.

I'd say the RC F is the best performance deal from Lexus at the moment (especially when you look at the LC). However, I think even the RC 350 has appeal. I was thinking of looking at those once I get closer to the end of my lease. However, the two-door layout and touch pad controller would probably make it a tough sell for my significant other... we'll see.
Personally I'd lean towards the IS 350, but I do like the RC. If you are lusting after it I'd say give it a shot - so long as you can secure a good deal on it!
