Comparing the TSBs for various models and model years, there are different files for different models and model years, depending on screen size.
Per the TSB linked below (for 2014 model year IS), file that applies to the 2014 model year IS is:
13LHENNA-AB01_0004.kwi
http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/TSb/...dPdf?id=197086 (page 4)
Haven't seen where this file is available to download, but curious if installing another version of the software update (like the file posted by OP, (13LHENNA-AB01_0003.kwi) which is specific to the 2015 and 2016 CT, ES, IS, NX and RC models with 7 inch nav screens) will cause any issues or will lead to improvements?
If anyone with a 14 IS downloaded and installed OP's file as posted in post #1 (13LHENNA-AB01_0003.kwi) advise as to function and if you notice any issues or improvements.

Right, but the update you refer to, currently available (as of today) on Lexus' download site, (V10C8871) was released August 31, 2015, so it has been out for a while.
The latest update for USA market 2014 IS, referenced in the TSB I posted (file 13LHENNA-AB01_0004.kwi for updated version V1##8910) was released November 11, 2016, so this is the latest update that I know of, and as of today, not available on the Lexus download site. So until this latest update is made available on the download site, still must go to the dealer to get. I will wait it out.

PatrixUSA is correct...V10C8871 is an older software version...V1##8910 is the most current version.
The current version is not on the download site yet.
The file 13LHENNA-AB01_0004.kwi contains the software version V1##8910. As you can see, the file and version number have no relation in terms of the name.

Don't know about hardware but poor algorithms are definitely an issue. It doesn't take much of a computation power to come up with correct routing from my house to Mammoth Lakes - a road distance of about 320 miles. The number of permutations is limited (this is not dense urban setting of East coast) and the software is clearly working hard since it is coming up with all sort of bizarre solutions like even driving through Las Vegas.

It comes down to this...if your version starts with V10C then the latest you can download is V10C8871. If your version starts with V15A then the latest you can download is V15A8910 using the link I supplied in the first post. Sorry I can't find V10C8910 for the older nav units. Lexus really has then whole system jacked as they switched unit production in the middle of the production year. Meaning some '15s will have V10C others will have V15A.

You are correct Patrick, this is an old version for 2014-2015 IS models, this version released to fix some bug and rebooting issue, thanks for the Right Info. it worked for me because my car is 2015 i guess, so far so well no more self-rebooting with my Navigation.

Sorry to bring back an old thread here... I see this is only for the navigation version of IS (although it's compatible with non-navi GS).
Does Lexus ever update the non-nav systems for IS?? Or gracenote database? I have an IS350 and it doesn't seem they ever release any updates (since they haven't for 2014 or 2015).

Link no longer works!
For those technically incline and want to skip the dealer, I found the latest update to our navigation units online. The latest version is V15A8910 based on the TSB here:
http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/TSb/...dPdf?id=197088
The firmware itself can be grabbed straight from Lexus here:
https://dl.securedp.toyota.com/lexus...-AB01_0003.kwi
Quick steps:
1. Download the above file. Take a USB key and format the key as FAT32, MUST BE FAT32!!!
2. Plug the key into the car, start the car (as in leave the car running)
3. Go to General Settings then down to Software Update, finally Update (NOT Gracenote update)
4. The screen will show you your current version and give you the option to proceed with an update if one is needed, if one is not the update button will not be enabled
5. Update takes around 5 minutes or so, leave the USB key plugged in and follow all the instructions.
6. Enjoy skipping the dealer for updates
This firmware update applies to multiple vehicles including: CT, ES, IS, NX, and the RC. Just verify your firmware version is following the similar scheme as V15AXXXX

I updated my 2015 Lexus GS 350 F sport with the 13LWENNA-AB01_0002.kwi update. However, now my Navigation screen is stuck on the caution screen. I cannot get passed the caution screen after the update.
Maybe it is because the SD card that it has needs to be reprogrammed right after the multimedia update? I am not entirely sure why this happened. The version that I updated to is V15A8910
Can anyone help?

Also, the system won't let you update a file with the incorrect one, so if you were able to complete the update successfully, then you had the right version of software.
My only suggestion at this point in a Lexus reboot...disconnected the battery for 10 minutes (or longer), then reconnect and start the vehicle. It may stall on the first start...not to worry.
Hopefully the system reboots normally at that time.

I disconnected the negative terminal for at least 3 minutes. And the same thing happened. gets stuck on the caution screen. Do I have to disconnect the battery fully for 10 minutes (both the negative and positive cable)?
