For the newer IS, 2017+ there is actually a scroll kn0b inside the cabin in which you can control how much noise gets pumped into the cabin. ASC - Active Sound Control. <-- this is fake noise imo

I'm having a hard time finding anything on ASC for the IS however. Not to get too far off-topic, since I am 99% sure this thread is about the V6 engine.
