Heading to the dealer again tomorrow. They have been told to grease the shims (which I told the guy will do nothing because it is from rotor/pad contact). Im going to have them sand the pads a little bit as well while the pads are out.

I do not want to go back a 3rd time. There is nothing worse than sitting in a dealer for 1.5 hours. Wasted time.

Do you park outside? Check the rotors before you head out tomorrow. Is there a layer of rust on them?

There have been lots of people on here complain about the same thing. $50 and 1 hour of your time and you could install new pads which won't squeak or put off brake dust.

We've been dealing with the same obnoxious squeal for 20,000 miles now and we've had it. Been to the dealer 4 times and all 4 times the same response and the 4 trips is at 2 different dealers. Finally after the last trip I called Lexus HQ and talked to them about it in which I was told sorry there is nothing we can do as it's up the dealer to decide on whether they want to do anything or not. The service manager suggested replacing the pads and re-surfacing the rotors at the tune of $386.00....sorry no thanks. Why would I put the same crap pads back on and have to deal with this again. So I guess it's time for some Akebono's, however the wife is so upset with the lack of costumer service that we've received from Lexus dealers over the course of 2 years of ownership and Lexus HQ recently that she's ready to go back to being a BMW owner.

No it is garage kept. My daughters 328i gets the rust on the rotors from being outside and doesn't squeal at all. If they can't fix it today, I'm just going to buy new pads.

I have not heard the noise after 2 days. they greased the shims and sanded the pads a little bit. We will see what happens this week. I've only taken the car out twice this weekend.
