Ok confirmed no manifold removal required on 2014 350, probably seen as obvious to some but there it is. As to the need for changing at 60k, these were removed at 72,500 and look ok. Maybe an improvement in acceleration....

Is the IS250 a lot different than the 350? I thought they were same block just different displacements? I just pulled the engine cover off to look at the wifes 250 and the manifold definitely has to be removed far as I can tell. Or did you fiddle around with a number of short sockets, slipping them in one by one to get that middle plug on the driver side? All the rest are easily accessible without pulling manifold.

So wait, are the spark plugs recommended to be changed per Lexus at 60k or at 90k miles?

What's everyone paying to have their plugs changed? I'm at 62k miles and figured I'd go ahead and do it.

For the IS250 you do need to remove the intake manifold to get to the back plug. I changed out my plugs two times on my old 2006 IS250 @ 60k and 115K. The first time i replaced the plugs i completely removed the manifold and on the second change i just loosen it and lifted the manifold a bit to get to the plug. If you are in the process of changing them out you can use the write up in the 2IS forum for a guide. The IS250 and IS350 engines have not changed since 2006 so its the same write up.

Its the middle plug not the rear. But yeah I read the DIY, which says to remove manifold. That's why I was curious after reading this thread if someone had managed to squeeze in there and change it without removing the manifold. Thanks for the feedback! Doesn't actually look like too much trouble to pull the manifold, so I'll just go ahead and do that.

Hello,
I just bought a 2014 IS350 from TX last weekend with 61,000 miles. Drives like a dream, but also feels much heavier than my 2001 IS300. Im torn on which I prefer more. Anyway, I am due to change the plugs soon and just ordered a set of Denso plugs and a new Dayco poly rib accessory belt for $100 plus tax from Advance auto parts. Thats a pretty good deal from what I have seem at the stores. If you find the part on their website and put it your cart, dont buy it. Start the check out and put in your info, and email. Then exit out. The retail cost will be about $130. In a day or two, they will email you a discount code for at least 20% off. I got a coupon code for 25% off. And that got the price down to $107 for a belt and plugs. Beat the rockauto price and I can pick it up locally the same day.

I bought my IS300 12 years ago and it has 282,000 miles. I know it can go to 500,000 but its time for me to get a classier version. The 14 I bought is Atomic silver with tan interior. Planning on a few quick mods. Tinting the windows and the figs front LCA2 bushing, and plugs, belt, maybe tensioner bearing,

can someone show me where I can find the factory service manual for the 3IS. I know there is a copy floating around somewhere. Thanks

There was a thread there with links to PDF's of the repair manual, but I believe the mods killed it some time back.
What are you looking for specifically?

I know I’m late here but to confirm on 3is 350s the intake manifold doesn’t have to be removed I’ve had no problems replacing my spark plugs w the intake manifold on my 14 is350

Can anyone confirm there's no difference from the earlier generation? Planning on doing it myself and just want to be prepared. Thanks.

I have a 2014 IS 350 f sport awd
i am the original owner 83k miles still original plug’s working great
I will change them when they give me some sort of sign
