Default 2017 Pre-Collision system not working

Hi,
i picked up a 2017 earlier tonight and the precollision system is not working. I tried activating it by getting super close to the car ahead of me but the car did not even make an alert or a visual warning. This is too much I spent all this money on a car that can avoid an accident for my daughter before she can drive and it really sucks to not have full functionality

i want it to provide alerts before she gets into an accident or hits a pedestrian. Not saying she'll do that but it would be great.

Most of these systems will act only if you're truly really close to having an accident. I think that if you suspect that it's not working, take it to the dealership so that you and a tech can verify it.

Before bashing the car maybe you should first find out how the system works..

The system wont kick in for anything below 40 kms (25 miles) The same goes for the Radar Cruise Control.

And if your're actually touching the brakes even so slightly, the car will suspect that you are in control and alert.

Just to be sure, PCS will not 100% of the time will prevent a collision. But, It will definitely decrease the impact.

And you got a 2017? Mind sharing the packages and price for you got for it?

Go into settings on the center screen and adjust the PCS to the highest, most sensitive setting (all bars green).

i think I'll end up doing this. The lane keeping assistant is working which is incredibly annoying.

im disheartened that i spent so much on technology and was misled by Lexus website. I thought this was like volvos system which protects against collisions with other cars and pedestrians

Thumbs down

Dude not to be an a**hole but stop whining. Go trade the car in and get a volvo if you are SO offended by lexus and its product. Sounds to me like maybe you couldn't comfortably afford the car if its base with no options. I also think its YOUR fault for not testing these options out on the test drive and having the salesman explain them in detail... and even then you could have had a tech specialist take you out to show you how they work.

Default 3-day return?

My Florida Lexus dealer offers a 3-day, 150 mile 'no questions asked' return period. Do you have this option?

Seriously? Have you tried reading the manual? Or how about going back to the dealership and have them explain it and demonstrate it for you before whining on here about it not working.

You seem like one of those people who shouldn't have this tech in the first place. Instead of teaching your daughter the responsibilities of driving, your leaving it up to technology to protect her. Let me guess, if she got into a serious accident you'd hire a lawyer and sue Lexus blaming them because the car didn't do what you think it should.

Thing is, dealerships will never let customers test the PCS.

However, LKA and LDA is easily testable on a test drive, and it works. Just gotta make sure your settings are set to what you want.

And what MISLED you about Lexus tech? They don't have any false advertisement from my knowledge.
