I'm not a troll because I'm unhappy with the acceleration performance of the car. Claiming that I am would be a pathetic attempt to discredit someone's valid opinion which is a generic and lame fan boy defense. If you are happy with the acceleration performance of the car then more power to you. I am not. That's why I'll be getting the 340 which has dynoed at over 330 to the wheels as my next car.

I agree. It's a good handling car despite its weight. But my second gripe is that it eats through tires because of the suspension geometry. That handling comes at a price and I'm on my second set of tires at just over 20 k miles.

Think that's bad? Try a Porsche...

I'm on my second set of tires, but have 46k miles on my is350.

the IS350 is how the IS line was really designed to be enjoyed.
The beauty of the 350 is you get the elegance of driving a Lexus and just enough pop to feel like a true entry sport car.

Sure some bmws might be faster. But whenever I see a bmw behaving like a spoiled child on the road... its usually a spoiled teen driving it.
You will not share the car of choice with "those" drivers.

Exactly. My is350 is for long commutes and trips.

The AWD version has a crappier tranny too. I find the 8 speed to be very responsive on the RWD version. But in the end, the car is slow.

Slow is definitely relative. I roll my IS 250 F Sport through the Dallas metrplex with no issues. If I need to pass someone, I get that V6 growl and I'm on my way. No it is not a track car and nor is the 350 but both are effective in 'semi-agressive' mixed driving. 😁

Despite BMW having so much more power, I sure give them a hard time in traffic. They have to take it to 70mph on our 45mph roads to get around me. On a drag strip, sure the is350 will get beat by many others. In city driving, it's not going to get passed unless one allows it. I've had many BMW try it and fail. Who cares if your .5 seconds faster to 60? Where does that get you in city driving? I pass 99% of traffic with ease.

Lets see who spends the most time at the shop though! Nice having a reliable car with plenty of passing power when you drive 70miles a day.

Face it, the Lexus is is getting left in the dust by its competitors and there is no hope in sight with the next generation IS. Even The old is300 is faster than the is350 because of the pathetic final drive ratio.
The old is300 was as fast a v6 camry. Cant touch the 350. You can't be serious...

He's just rabble rousing.

Would be like a 911 owner telling a Boxster owner that his Boxster isn't a real Porsche.

Indeed.

Motor Trend tested the 350 RWD at 5.6 seconds and the AWD at 5.3 seconds to 60. I remember thinking how awesome it would be to drive a car that could do it in the mid 6 second range. Times have changed!

What did you replace your 1st set of tires with? The Bridge stones are not good and you can't go cheap due to the 3IS suspension. The Michelin PSSs are great tires and greatly improve the handling of the 3IS. I replaced the 1st set at almost 20K miles and oh what a difference!!! I have almost 5K miles on them and I appreciate more why Lexus engineered the 3IS the way they did. I have a '15 250 F Sport and I drive aggressively with no issues. In real world driving, the 0-60 and 1/4 mile stats are almost meaningless. If you want a track car or race 3 series from stop light to stop light, get a 3 series. If you want an around great sports sedan, get a 250, 300, 200T, or 350 F Sport and be done with it.😎

For reference, 2IS vs 3IS weights per Lexus:

2013 IS250 RWD 3435 lbs
2014 IS250 RWD 3461 lbs
Difference: +26 lbs

2013 IS250 AWD 3651 lbs
2014 IS250 AWD 3649 lbs
Difference: -2 lbs

2013 IS350 RWD 3527 lbs
2014 IS350 RWD 3593 lbs
Difference: +66 lbs

2013 IS350 AWD 3703 lbs
2014 IS350 AWD 3737 lbs
Difference: +34 lbs

And for completeness:
2016 IS200t RWD 3583 lbs

2016 IS300 AWD 3737 lbs
