Default Thinking about purchasing a IS250 have some questions coming from 2013 gs350 F Sport

Hello.

I was planning on purchase a IS 250 but before i pull the trigger i wanted to as some questions from current IS Owners

I have owned in the past 2006 gs300, 2007 GS 350, 2007 IS 250.

I recently purchased 2013 GS 350 F Sport. I was very disappointed in the way that car drove and felt.

The prior years GS had a nice feeling and power. I could only drive the GS 350 in Sport+ plus mode to get the somewhat of that power and feeling back.. The lexus comfort and power that i use to get from previous GS is not there.

I currently also have a 2007 IS 250 and prefer driving that than my 2013 GS 350. Thinking about trading the GS for a newer 2014 IS 250.

Current 3rd gen owners who have driven 2nd gen IS can chime in and let me know their thoughts. Is the feeling the same or better or will i be disappointed like my GS.

Also, I am older now and don't care about suspension and more about comfort and power. Do you recommend F sport as a must or can i buy base and or luxury model?

Thx

I haven't owned a second gen IS, but I went from a '14 IS350 to a '15 GS350.

If you don't feel that the GS350 has enough power, I can't imagine you will find it in an IS250. Is there any reason why you are not looking at a current IS350?

As for the way they drive, my GS drives a LOT like my IS did, just a bit bigger.

let me clarify.

The new GS seems sluggish compare to the older GS and IS. Yes IS is smaller but that tightness feeling and comfort that you get from an older GS i am not getting from my newer GS. So that's why wondering if the new IS is same as well.

Many people on here who have owned the 2nd gen and then the 3rd gen IS have complained about the same thing. I can't really comment as it's been a long time since I drove a 2nd gen IS. Best to just do some test driving. Others will have more helpful comments for you.

I know you're asking for is250 reviews but I honestly think the 350 is the car you want based on your wants/needs.

My experince with a 2015 IS350F AWD:

Comfort in my 350 (same as 250) is outstanding. the seats hug me tighter than my girlfriend does. The cabin materials are all premium, and the heating/cooling all take affect after a short couple second warm-up. HUD would have been nice, but the screen is placed higher up so peeking over for GPS instructions isn't so bad. They're also displayed beside the tachometer if you've moved it over to the right. The headrest for the drivers seat will get mangled by the roof if you're short and push it up too high.

Performance-wise, the 250 can't be compared to the 350 fairly. If you put it in normal/sport/sport+ the car really comes alive and you'll be rocking yourself back a little when the light goes green, even with moderate gas application.
If you really step on it, the naturally aspirated V6 roars a luxurious yet wild tune. It is by far my favourite sound of any car in its price range. Not overly loud like a mustang, but refined and powerful. On the highway, it has tremendous passing ability which makes up for its slightly slower off the line times. The car is tuned for real driving more than racing making it kind of a "sleeper".

Do yourself a favour and get the 350. Its closer to what you want than the 250 is.
