Brand new 2016 IS200t F Sport -- Clicky brake pedal
Hey, guys. New owner here. I bought a brand new IS200t F-Sport and the brake pedal seems to have some free play at the very very top of pedal travel, the very first 2-3mm (Extremely small). Nothing to do with hydraulics, brake pads, rotors etc. But the actual pedal itself has some free movement. Every time I brake, the pedal clicks. I kneeled down to where the brake pedal arm is and wiggled it around with my hand, including pulling UP on it and it wiggles around in place. It appears as if a metal sleeve where the brake pedal pivots is loose. Like it has the wrong sized bushing or sleeve.
My question is: is this normal?
The obvious solution is to get it checked out at the dealer but the dealer I got it from is a bit far. I'll take it in on the weekend but it really is annoying drive around and having a loose brake pedal every time I brake. Now again, the car has great brakes. It stops fast and firmly. I'm not talking about braking performance or noises from the wheel area. I'm talking about the actual pedal assembly itself inside the car.
I have a long history of driving on and working on cars, including track cars (BMW M3s and the likes). This doesn't feel normal to me.

Just checked mine. It wiggled as you said if I pulling it UP but definitely not when I pressed it down with my hand. It was very firm when I pressed and did not hear any clicks. You can bring to any Lexus dealer to have it checked.

Seems like this issue is coming up a lot.
Mine did from day one. About 700 miles now, still feel it. I took it in to the dealer yesterday and told me
its somewhat normal. I received another 16 is200t rental during inspection and I felt the same clicking, but not as bad. The mechanic put me into a car that just came off the delivery truck, same. My car felt a step worse than those other IS. They tried lubing, nothing. The mechanic put in an order in for a new brake booster assembly to see if that will fix the issue. I will keep you guys updated. Hopefully the part is in by next week.
Btw, are 2014-2015 guys feeling this?

Well as I said visibly looking under the brake pedal area moving the pedal by hand, you can see the part that the pedal pivots on has a lot of visible free play in it. This is the source of the "clunk clunk" you see/hear. Doesn't seem normal to me. Seems a bushing or sleeve is out of tolerance. If other ISs off the trucks do it, then I guess i'll just live with it.
my 13 year old BMW 3 series had a rock solid brake pedal free of ANY discernable play. Top notch stuff there

^Makes me feel better others experiencing it. Very strange. I wonder why Toyota did this. I shouldnt be feeling any click when I step on the brake.

Update...finally my dealer received the brake booster replacement and my IS just got dropped off. Should be done by later this afternoon. We'll see what kind of result we get.
Those experiencing the same brake issue...any change in feel?

Let us know what happens though.

I figured it didn't need any replacement parts, but since it's a brand new car (1,000 miles), figured I let the dealer deal with it rather me starting to wrench/lube on it.
