Hello 3IS-ers,

My brakes seem to make a screeching noise when I only reverse. It happens very frequently. I will post a video of the noise later today. Does anyone have an idea of what is going on?

I brought it in to the Lexus dealership (Fremont Magnussen) few weeks ago and the service guys said they tried to recreate the issue, but the screech would not occur. I have my 25,000 maintenance appointment tomorrow and I will provide them with some videos of the noise.

Is this covered by warranty by any chance?

Is it all the time? Or maybe just first thing in the morning after a damp humid evening? I've experienced it in that case and have attributed it to moisture.

It happens throughout the day.
Out of 10 times I would reverse, I say 8 times the screech would occur.

My 2014 IS 250 F Sport brakes screech too when I reverse. My brake rotors are probably just glazed as I've never had to replace the pads or machine the rotors yet. The screeching happens when the shoes get worn down.

It's almost time for me to replace my factory brake pads and I'll go with ceramic ones this time around. I can't stand the brake dust the OEM, high friction ones produce.
