It happens. I live in AZ happened not too long ago and it started spreading. Good thing I have glass coverage and found a shop that replaced it with oem Lexus glass from the dealer. Covered under insurance!

Since this chip is very small. I don't think it would be necessary to replace the whole thing.
I think filling is the best option. I've seen some filler kits on amazon. Any of these work?
So, I called Safelite. They quoted me $100 out of pocket to fix. I'm not sure about my insurance policies (I have farmers), since I am still under my parents. But I'm more than willing to just pay on my own, if its a decent price.
There might be a few window shops that will fill a chip for free. I know of at least one in the Bay Area. Since it's generally pretty cheap, I don't think your insurance would cover unless you have something that covers glass.
In the past my insurer has waived the deductible for rock chip repairs, which allows repair with nothing out of pocket. Might want to give your insurance a call and check.
check your insurance company. Liberty Mutual in my state will contract safelite and they come out to wherever you are and do it in less than 30 minutes.

You mind sharing where this shop is? I also live in the Bay Area.

I called a Co-Worker's friend at AAA, the guy said chips like the one in my photo aren't repairable because its merely a nick in the top layer. If it did not penetrate thru, or cause any cracks or spreading. It can't be repaired.
