Must warranty work be done prior to lease return, or is returning a car with outstanding warranty work acceptable?
Two matters at this time: Defective deterioration of Navigation / Enform screen covering and driver's seat NuLuxe, both of which I'm hopeful would be covered under warranty.
With two months to go, I'd rather not have to be bothered with bringing the car to the dealer for these matters.
Are you sure both will be covered under warranty and/or have the warranty service bulletins on each issue? If you're 100% sure they are valid warranty repairs then don't worry about it. If your HOPING they are warranty issues than I would take it before to make sure you don't end up with a fat bill.
None of that will be chargeable at lease end. It's also worth pointing out that, aside from recalls, us dealers do NOT perform warranty work on lease returns unless the customer specifically asks us to at turn in.
Are you absolutely sure? You've seen lease returns with same?
Just want to be confident I'm not buying a problem with turning in same.
Thanks again, as always!
Absolutely positively sure.
OK, let me rephrase that... if your engine threw a rod that may be different
But open campaigns or recalls? No worry. Issues covered by warranty? Shouldn't be an issue. If you're in NYC area I'll take the car in if you'd like.
What IS chargeable:

Damage to body panels where the paint is broken
Busted windshields
Smashes mirrors
