Default Where should I get my oil change?

I'm here in Fort Myers, FL... Where should I get my oil change for my IS 350 F Sport? Should I go to the Lexus Dealership? What about a chain oil place? It's my first lexus, so I'm not sure whats best... My infiniti, I just went to Infiniti to get it done.

I always recommend having the oil changed at the Lexus dealer per the service schedule. This should have the benefit if there is ever a problem during or shortly after the warranty period, you will demonstrate you took car of the car per recommended service.

The motor oil service recommended by Lexus is 10K miles or 12 months; however, being a maintenance nut, I am going to replace the oil and filter in between each Lexus oil service.

NO chain oil place. Try a independent Lexus dealer and compare what Lexus charges. Try to stick with the same brand of oil. I always us an OEM oil filter and Mobil 1 motor oil. The oil filter are very cheep. Since I got my car yesterday, I have not had a chance to check Walmart for the M1 0w-20. I get my Porsche oil from them for $26 for 5qt container. Save all your receipts.

Enjoy your car in good health.

I got my lexus in August 2015. I have 4k miles on it... are you saying I don't need a oil change right now?

Short dives of less than 10 miles is not good. Condensation will form in the engine block with short dives and the only way to get rid of it is to change the oil. I don't know what Lexus recommends for low mileage drivers; but, Porsche recommends changing the oil at least once a year if the car was not driven the 10K. Call dealer and ask them.

Just wait for your first service at 5k. Lexus will do your first 2 services for free and oil change is included.

I'm going to get my first oil change done at a Lexus dealership. The price on the dealer website said it was only $49.95 for an oil change. Go on the dealer website that you want your service done and look for their service coupon deals.

Also I thought the manual said change the oil every 6k miles or 6months? Is it 6k or 10k??

According to the service manual, there is no oil service at 5K miles on my 16 is350 F Sport. The first oil change is at 10k miles or 12 months.

I just took my IS in for the 10k mile service, 10k is the first oil change, and every 10 is a change I believe, 5k is just tire rotation, inspection, making sure nothing's wrong. Changing more often definitely won't hurt but won't necessarily be better, they said the synthetic oil doesn't break down it just gets dirty, really its up to the owner how often you want it

Go to a Toyota dealership. They literally use the same stuff as Lexus. Just ask for the synthetic. Price wise would definitely be cheaper than going to a Lexus dealer.

Do it yourself. If you don'tt know what your doing, there are a lot of youtube videos showing how to do this basic maintenance.

I used to do this. Then my time was worth more than that so I just pay someone. I don't have to get rid of the oil either. win win.
