Moved On To Another Model
It's been fun hanging around on this forum for 2 plus years. I have really enjoyed reading as many threads as I could during this time. The Mrs. really enjoyed her 3rd gen IS. She drove it for a little over 2 years and put almost 26K miles on her. I probably drove it for less than 1K of those miles. Loved all the bells and whistles we had on the car. We had everything the base 350 could get tech wise. The exception was the dynamic cruise.
So the question is if we like it so much, why bolt? Well, she always wanted a RX for the size and the AWD capabilities. So that is what she got. Got a great deal on a certified '15 RX450h. As for the IS, we started to have some electrical issues with the IS which made me uncomfortable. Too many for a new car in my opinion. First the radio failed and the entire head unit was replaced. The radio itself worked fine, but that darn weather sync with the HD radio never really worked, until the unit was replaced. Next came the parking sensors. Both the front and rear sensors were replaced due to failure. And lastly, the sunroof closed when it wanted to. That to me was the last straw. Way too many issues for a brand new car. Yes, I know, it was a new model which always comes with some issues. I can tolerate those. But electrical problems seem to scare me a little.
Don't get me wrong, it is a sweet car, but it will not be missed. As a fairly big guy (over 6 feet, around 200 pounds), I thought the IS was a tight fit. I love the room of my GS and really love the room of the RX. I'll keep poking around this forum to keep up with you guys. I haven't gone too far. Just a couple forums over!
Enjoy your vehicles and safe travels!

Congrats on your purchase. We too have an RX and a GS and it's a great combination.
