Hey guys, recently went to try and get a remote starter install but during the setup the system gave an error saying the car already has a factory starter located behind the radio, has anyone install a viper remote start system in a 2014 is and have same problem. He didn't want to remove the radio so asked me to ask the dealer to remove the radio to disconnect the remote starter behind it.

 

does your car have Nav? without Nav, your car has the chip for the starter build in and you can have it set up together with your key fob so no extra remote required.

 

It has Navi, but the factory remote starter is only a 50feet range and dealer wants 600$ to have it install while aftermarket cost less than 400 with 1mile range.

I'd call Viper directly and see what they have to say about support for your specific vehicle.

 

I also have one. Brand is Fortin iirc. With our damn cold canadian winters, it's a must! The thing I don't like about the one working with the keyfob is the limited range. Mine works from reeeeeally far!
