F-Sport style grill mesh as a drop in replacement in Non F-Sport bumper fascia
I know there are already threads discussing the full swap out of non FSport grills to FSport.
But I am really surprised that with all the people who like the FSport mesh grill, that an aftermarket company has not simply molded a FSport style mesh grill to fit right into the non FSport bumper and front face.
Seems like there would be a HUGE market for this.
#1 - It would be far less expensive and laborious that having to swap out the entire front bumper since the current factory mesh grills are not interchangeable.
#2 - Many people (and I am definitely one of these people) prefer the clean and more standard look of the non FSport front, but like the sporty look of the mesh grill. (This is extremely similar to the popularity of the Audi S to RS mesh grill swap. For many Audi S4/S5 owners, swapping out the grill to give it an RS look is the first thing they wanna do)
If I could simply buy a non FSport bumper, drop in an FSport style mesh grill and mount it.. BAM! I believe this would be the best look overall for an IS.
Anyone know if any aftermarket companies are working on this option?

I agree with you Booster, I am also one of those who will definitely buy meshed grill for non F-Sport for the same reasons as you, dont like the whole front styling of FSport bumper, but grill is different story .))

I wonder how much market there would actually be for a drop in F Sport style grill. I think many non F Sport owners, like myself, avoided the F Sport package in no small part because we did not like the F Sport grill.

i'd switch out my non-f-sport grill for an f-sport-style grill as well. the only reason i didn't get an f-sport is because of the lack of options available, e.g., the options available with the luxury package, that are are available on the non-f-sport models.

Well...
I think the F Sport grill will not look good with the non F bumber, as I saw one pic of a 3is with an aftermarket mesh grill. Currently I have the F sport rims and only the front bumber/grill is remaining. Swaping the bumber + grill + the LED fog lights will cost around 1,600 - 1,700 USD , so it is not that much and it will look much cleaner. The only thing remaining is the F sport gauge.
