Dumb question but how can I search his build thread?

I own this. But have not installed. I have my license plate in my windshield on the far right. Few months and fingers crossed no mention of it from cops.

Default License Plate Frame

I know, kind of silly but I am in the market for a License plate frame and I don't want a piece of junk. The last one i bought started rusting.

I would like a high quality black one... what are you guys using?

I need one as well! I was thinking I'd like the way my car looks without a plate frame, but looks odd somehow.

So not a silly question IMO.

I had official Infiniti frames manufactured by the same company and they never rusted.
Does Lexus even sell these anymore? I'd actually spend the money on this. It looks clean. I got some $15 eBay F Sport frame.

I went through the same dilemma. Shopped tirelessly for a nice chrome frame. They don't make them like they used to... literally. Had one growing up I loved, heavy gauge, mirror finish, high quality. Withstood the test of time and 15 cars. Traded the car in with it thinking I could just buy another. Boy was I wrong. I searched the entire planet, all sites, all dealers, even various brands Audi mercedes etc. No one offers a good plate frame. Still searching.

After many amazon and ebay orders, the closest and nicest one I found (I'm picky) are these https://amzn.to/3iEcwUl (2 hole variety)

They're cut nice, the finish is top notch, however the material is thin. It'll do for now. but this is the design I like. It has to be this very design, including the angles near the screw hole, the width at the bottom. This. Specific. Design.

I hate thin borders, i hate too sharp of an angle at the screw holes.

I'd like something just like this but with Lexus (letters) laser etched, painted black inside the letters, and heavy gauge steel. But the same exact look.

If you want an F Sport frame, nothing beats the Lexus branded one (i bought for $50 a long time ago) but i gave it away with the 3IS when i returned the lease (dumb mistake) would've rather given it to a 3IS owner. I don't think you can buy them new anymore.

^Also I have my plate frame and plate insulated, wrapped, protected, it's all combo'd up, installed nicely to not damage the paint finish on the car, nor rattle. I take the plate stuff seriously! I'll post a pic if anyone's interested how the above plate frame looks.

I ended up ordering a $13 one on Ebay. It's black with "laser-style" Lexus logo in the center at the bottom. We'll see how it holds up. It was really the only one that looked the way I wanted (black frame with Lexus emblem, nothing extra).

Default 1970's plates selling for $200-400 on Ebay

Recently went looking for a license plate frame and discovered that the one I have is starting at $219-$400 on Ebay (starting prices). This was on my MGB from the 70's. Yes, this has nothing to do with OP's question, but I thought it was just an interesting piece of trivia. Apparently, they're a huge collectors item.
