My wife lived in Palm Desert, CA for three months. The weather there is 115F during the summer. After 3 months of parking in the sun, the rear speaker mesh deteriorated and crumbled into pieces. I think the rear sunshade would help in this circumstance.

i can just imagine what the sun there did to the rest of the car -- yet-unseen damage.
I have this feature, but have never used it or found a need for me. Unless you're driving when the sun is sitting very low, probably never going to need it.
I live in Bonaire Dutch Caribbean and we have a lot of sun. 100% of the day every day. I have the is300H f-sport from Europe. Where can i get this sunshade ???

you can't, it has to come with the car.
well, i guess you *could* but it would take more money than it's worth -- better to just tint.
those are amazing if you have the time to place them against each window. they often aren't practical for use on the entire vehicle unless you have to park for, like, eight hours in an outdoor carpark while you are at work or something.

You know what, I just noticed the plastic and mines is damaged too! Doesn't bother me but it still cracked!
Will take pics soon...don't want to wait to see what will happen next.
This works fine until the kids decide to check it out and destroy it. I would not want this feature if I have to put small young kids in the back seat. Kids are kids and they are curious and will want to mess with it.
Better go the tint route. Cheaper and better.

Does anyone have a part number for this? I drive around with my black dog in the back seat alot and she would appreciate it.
If you don't need the power function, this might be a good alternative if/when it becomes available again. It'll be much cheaper than getting the part with motor and new rear shelf.

Thanks, but I'm looking for more of an oem retrofit, with the factory switch and everything. Im not going to hook it to the reverse gear, but other than that, I want to go oem look and function.
