As others previously stated, the backup cam is very accurate and reliable! But don't rely solely on it to back up in parking garages or lots. Always use your eyes and look to the sides before backing up! For parallel parking, it comes in very handy! Just get use to it and you'll be comfortable!

 

Agreed 100%. I use it to get a better idea of proximity, but I always look and make sure it's clear before I start moving just as I would without a camera. The motion proximity sensor has been an asset. My neighbors don't supervise their children and the kids don't know better than to ride their bikes right behind cars that are backing out. The kids usually just dart behind the car.
