In Canada, the windshield wiper defrosters are standard!

I find the IS 350 has an acceptable warm up time for the interior, however it never takes me longer than 10 minutes of drive time before hot air is blowing out (even in -20C temperatures). if It does heat up slower than our Venza V6 though.

As for the seat heaters, my opinion is that it takes a while to heat up, but reach a nice "warm" setting when on the lowest level. Again, the seat heaters are slightly slower than on the Venza.

Are you blasting your heater while it's warming up? Doing so drastically increases your warm up time.
I always or my air on low and turn it off during warm up.

I'm amazed how quickly the car heats up. But I'm in Canada (where it was -15F yesterday). As I understand it, the Canadian trim of the IS comes with a ceramic heater of some kind (I think I can smell it even). So the air heats up even before the engine does.

It's certainly ridiculously fast compared to my old Mazda3...

With the heated steering wheel, windshield wiper de-icers, headlamp washers, all wheel drive...this car has been a dream in a Canadian winter.

 

To the OP- your seats in your IS 350 F-Sport if its a 14' year model they had an issue with the seats address that with your dealer. As for needing 30 mins to warm up the vehicle that seems very long also have it checked out by the dealer. Abg time to heat is 10-15 mins if that.

 

I was under the impression that there was no fix for the lack of heat intensity for the seats, and only MY15 had that fixed. There's something the dealer can do?

 

Really that cold in the city? I was at the Heavenly Submit up in South Lake Tahoe and it was 5 degrees F. I ended up feeling sick afterwards because I was freezing in the line waiting to go back down.

Back to the topic, I don't have much experience with snow, but during that trip my IS350 experienced snow covering the roof from head to tail and the side of its body. Boy it took me an hour to defrost the inner layer of snow even after I took out the outer layer myself.

Sometimes I just don't think the IS350 is a luxury sedan, perhaps the GS would be much better.

 

I don't have much experience in such cold winter either, but 30 min to heat up doesn't seem right especially if the car is being driven at the time. Can it be something wrong with the temp gauge? Like others have mentioned, I'd check with the dealer too.

 

Ambiant temp is 27 degrees below zero this morning (Normal for North Pole, AK) and my 350 F Sport AWD does just fine. 5 minute warm up and we're good to go. The seats warm up a bit slower than my wife's 09 Mazda 6S GT but faster than my 07 Chevy duramax, so all in all I see no problem with them. I have not had a problem with the wipers yet but agree that they should have wiper heaters like my son's 2015 WRX.

All Nuluxe seats have this problem. I live in Chicago and have a 2015.. my seats are still weak.

 

Try turning off your heater completely for the first few minutes of warm up and see if it drastically changes the warm up time. If not, i wonder if you might have a bad thermostat from the factory.
