Default Car WiFi Hotspot

does anyone have any experience with installing or using a wifi hotspot kit in their car? im looking for a 3g/4g wifi kit for my car so I can have wifi everywhere I go

Not trying to be a smart ***, but don't you have wi-fi wherever you go now? You have a smart phone? It's called tethering.

Let's assume he doesn't have a data plan on his smart phone? Or he's driving everyday where there is little to no existent service from his provider?

OP, what kind of wifi hotspot product are you looking at?

I do have a smartphone! tethering eats my data which is why I want a wifi in my car. just something to have.


and say im driving a few friends on a short roadtrip and they want to use their computers and such, WiFi....!!!

Wifi in-car is basically tethering. Mercedes S class has in car Wifi but the signal comes from SIM card inside the built in modem and it creates hot spot inside the car. Since Lexus doesn't have this if you bought mifi device from Verizon you would have to pay subscription, the same as tethering from your phone.

ya i looked into that, since i already have verizon i might as well as use that mifi thing. thanks for the help
