To clarify, the dealer just said the lower cap cost and money rate would've been available as part of the year end sale on the 2014 model. Perhaps it's tougher to get good deals on the 2015 model as it's just been released? I'm not interested in the 2014 because it doesn't have a heated steering wheel.

With the harsh winter last year, I became addicted to the heated wheel in my current car.

 

I'd say go with the 2014. You will def. get a heck of a deal on a 2014 than a 2015! Also, I wouldn't care so much for the heated steering wheel - wear gloves in the winter

 

I never would've checked a box for a heated steering wheel. But I bought a used 335i that has one and it's become one of my favorite features of the car. Sounds crazy, but it feels so good on cold winter days that I don't want to give it up. The dealer said that he expects the deals to get a little better in the coming months, once all the 2014s are gone.

 

Don't compare leasing on the east coast versus the west coast, they get much better deals out there. With your credit rating you should be able to get the MF down from what they quoted you also. What was the list price of this car, just wondering how much they discounted it.

 

That does seem high! I got my 2014 IS250 F-Sport (Sticker is $46,xxx) and they paid off $2,250 of my previous lease ... I did have to put $1,750 up front - so consider it as if they paid $500 for my lease, and I put nothing up front ... and I pay $485 a month for 27 months here in NY.

Yeah I know you're talking a 2015, and a IS350 ... but that much more a month seems like a lot, also considering how much you have to come up with.

 

Got some more info as to why the deal is high now. The TrueCar price for a 2015 is currently $1k higher than a 2014. Also, the money rate for a 2015 is higher than the 2014. Lastly, the car he quoted me was one on the lot which included about $1000 in options that I don't want (spoiler, blind spot, trunk mat, etc.). Add it all up, hence the higher price.

He said that as they get rid of all the 2014s, then deals and money rate for the 2015 should improve. Also, I'm going to wait to get a car that has only the options that I want. I'm not in a rush, so I can certainly wait for a better deal.

 

That's the best option - to not be in a rush. Wait and see how the market behaves. I guarantee you there will be better deals as 2014 ends.

 

Agree - it's never a good idea to be one of the first buyers in the new model year.

 

Around December you should be able to get close to what the 2014s are going for now.

 

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. Might make for a nice Xmas present.

 

I love the blind spot assist in my Lexus. Even after a few weeks with the car I was thinking to myself how much it comes in handy.

 

That's what I'm thinking. I should be able to get a heck of a deal in December if things don't work out for me between now and then.
