Default Problems with real-time traffic nav

I live in NYC and I notice my real-time traffic in pretty terrible. I was driving home the other day and on the traffic event list it stated that my bridge was close but the nav didn't bother routing me to another bridge. Is there anyway to fix it, using a tech solution?

Try inform live? I just came back from LA and used my trusty Google which rerouted me flawlessly. Didn't do a comparison and should have. A quick bookmark save here in CA on the local traffic network saves time. Be it a news channel or the state "traffic alert" website. Good luck.

I thought there was an option to reroute the nav automatically in case of road closure or traffic congestion. I think options in under Nav in settings.
