Pros of wrap/vinyl/etc - probably less expensive than a new part

Pros of new color matched part - you can keep the old chrome one in a box somewhere as an extra

i realized after i wrote the question that it makes more sense to vinyl wrap it since i want to get rid of the chrome trimmings around the windows as well. May as well do it all together. Now i just gotta find a place in orange county.

Default Sewell grille surround

Has anyone purchased this? If so is it easy to install? I want to purchase it but I don't want to rip off my bumper for it to install easy lol

I have it. You have to take the bumper off to install it. It's the only way. I had a dealer install it for me but there is someone that did it themselves. They too had to take off the bumper and disassemble the spindle grill.

I installed the grille myself thinking it was going to be snap off and snap on. It took me about 2-3 hours to replace that thing... and taking the front bumper off was the easy part. Once you have it off, you have to literally dissect the spindle grille off the bumper. like 20+ tabs and bunch of screws... But it was worth all the effort because my front end looks so much cleaner with it matched.

Any chance you have a front shot showing before and after?

I have the same color and want to do the exact thing, but I didn't think it was this hard :\ How long did it take you to do this?

your other option is to get it wrapped, it cost me $60 and 45 min wait time. I got carbon fiber

I had a dealer install mine when I had my winter tires taken off (I have RWD). It took them about an hour. It's a hard install for someone experimenting on how to disassemble everything. Just simply can take some time. For an experienced lexus mechanic, it shouldn't be a difficult thing to do.

Even if you get it wrapped, it would not turn out like this, would it? It would still have that plastic look we all have...

Can you show a picture of yours?

If you got it wrapped it would look similar to this. Basically, if you want an EXACT color match then get the grill surround piece of sewell. If you want to wrap it gloss black and have the slightest difference in color or shading then wrap it. Just depends on the look you want. If you want an exact color match then I suggest the grill surround.

I would wrap it with CF. Same thing goes with everything that seems to be replaced.
