Wow that's unheard of. Hopefully it doesn't happen in SF...... I suppose this only happen to those who park outside over night? Funny part is I dream of the exact situation before learning this on the forums...... except I was going out to have fun in the afternoon. Weird dream...... Seems like the wheel lock needs to be more secure.

I just got off the phone w/ the insurance appraiser:
- The original quote for the rims ($1235) was incorrect - the updated price is half that.
- Best news?! NO DAMAGE TO THE UNDERCARRIAGE!!!
- I originally had Bridgestone Turanza's all season tires on my car. The dealership recommended the Dunlop Sport. I told them I couldn't care less what brand it is, but it HAS to be all season (I live in NYC) and that all season was what I originally had on the car. The dealership told the appraiser that the original tires were "sub-standard" and these are better. But when I go to check, Dunlop doesn't make an all season tire for this car.
Anyway, I should have my car back Friday or Saturday!

I used these on ES and GS. Not sure if they fit all Lexus sedans.
Amazon.com: Gorilla Automotive 61631 Acorn Gorilla Guard Locks (12mm x 1.50 Thread Size) - Pack of 4: Automotive

those particular lug nuts are the wrong set for OEM Lexus wheels as they are "Acorn" styled.
you need wheels locks that have a washer and would counter-sink into the wheel opening. McGard and Gorilla both manufacture these and I beleive McGard is what is used by dealers as a wheel lock accessory (could be wrong on that though)
here are Gorilla's:
Amazon.com: Gorilla Automotive 73631T Toyota O.E. Wheel Locks With Washer (12mm x 1.50 Thread Size): Automotive
these are a new design to Gorilla...haven't really seen them with the washer style locks before, just ordered me a set and VERY reasonable at $17 shipped!
also...hide your wheel-lock key away from the spare-tire replacement tools in your trunk ( and not in your glove-box/armrest either). tuck it away nicely somewhere so it becomes another deterrent when a thief can't find it in the normal locations if they were to get into your car.

I'd ensure the wheels are brand new/original wheels, and not aftermarket. $1200 for a set of OEM wheels is rather cheap to be honest. also, the Michelin's are the way to go, as another member said.

Sorry, $1200 EACH is what was originally quoted. The updated price is a little over $600 each. The already ordered the Bridgestone's so I think it's too late now.

You can get the new factory f-sport rims from sewellparts.com for ~$440 each. That is the discounted price for Club Lexus members. Good Luck!
