Vossen CVT 19's or 20's
Its time for some new shoes for the car. I've decided i want to go with the Vossen CVT staggered of course, but i am not sure if i should go with 19's or 20's and i currently have the rsr super down installed. The only problem is that i do not want to roll any of my fenders. I've seen a few pictures on here with the VossenCVT, I dont know who, the Yellow, Nebula, and white 3IS has them.... If you could please tell me the size of the rims/offset and tire size you are running and if you're rubbing or not and an image for me to compare with the 19's or 20's with the CVT's, that would be greatly appreciated.
**Also for the Vossen members on here, is there events or something i can go to check these out? im on the west coast, socal to be exact. ALso, not sure who to contact for pricing and info. Thanks. |

Ive been trying to get info on this also. I just decided I'm gonna go for it. I got the 19" cv3 staggered with 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 and ordered the super downs. Kind of thinking if I should of went with the regular downs so I don't have any issues.I have a question for you though, how do the super downs ride? comfort/handling?

i want to ask if the 20" CVT's on RSR Down Springs will cause any rubbing?
|
For those wanting to run Vossen 20's, you should read this. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...recommend.html
Long story short, you have to run a stretched tire (255/30 on 10.5 rear wheel) setup if you don't want them to rub on a lowered 3is. A proper sized tire (285/25 on 10.5) will rub. The 19x10+42 CVT rear wheel fits the 3is pretty well since they are not extremely aggressive like all of their other Vossen wheels. These wheels are new and I believe that Vossen changed the offset to make them fit the 3is better. However, the 19's can look "small" from the side (imo), even on a car lowered with RSR Down springs. I think the Super Downs would make them look better. SpotXC - which tire are you going with? I will probably end up with the same wheel and springs on my car shortly. When will you be installing your new setup? |
id go for the 19'', 20'' i feel maybe overkill
i had 19'' on my M3 and they were almost too big IMO |

Jaznraz, I went with the nitto invos. I just got my wheels are tires on and I'm waiting for the springs. Probably by the end this week I'll have them on. Yomushi, Is it possible for you to post a pic or two with the super downs? I've only seen a couple pics and they look like the front is lower than the back while the regular downs look more even. Here are a couple pics of the 19 cv3 pre drop

I would say for the best fit option with nice size tires and since your lowered
go with the 19" CVT if you go with the 20" you will need to stretch your tires in the rear to make it work correctly without rubbing on the 3IS as for the 20x10 here is the tire size you have to go with on the 3IS ontop of lowering 255/30/20 or a 265/30/20 My buddy KJ ( who has the white 3IS on CVT wheels works at Vossen) We went through everything possible and have concluded this setup for the 20" |
Need4Speed - are there any 265/30/20 tires that don't cost $320+ per tire? From what I found on Tire Rack, when combined with matching fronts (235 or 245), you're only option is a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports at a healthy penalty of $1300 (235 front) or $1500 (245 front). Great tires, but very expensive in those sizes. Are there any other options out there?

Spotxc - looking great man! Hurry up and get the super downs installed! Lmk how the Invo's handle and ride.

Had invos on my previous is350 also and can't complain about them. Good tire in my experience. Stay away from the nitto nt555 though, they're squared and rub bad
