Default Static from Speakers with IPod Connected to USB Port

Static popping sounds are coming from my speakers when playing music through an IPod connected using an Apple white cable to the USB port. I haven't noticed the popping sounds until the past few days. I switched to the second USB port, but the popping sounds are still present. Has anyone experienced the same problem?

I use an ipod via usb. No popping noise. Have you tried a different cable? Might be a silly question, but have you updated the ios? I had popping noises in another system and it was due to an earlier version of ios. It was a known issue at the time and fixed in the next update.

Tried a different USB cord, and the static is still present. The problem only started after I recently synced new music to my IPod.

Update...After restoring the iPod Touch, the static issue was resolved.
