Default Quality aftermarket HUD?

Hi there,

It is so unfortunate that 3IS cannot be ordered with HUD where most of the competition does offer HUD as an option. I drove 335i and HUD in it is outstanding. So is anybody aware of the aftermarket good quality HUD that can be installed in our cars? I don't expect it to be integrated with our cars at the level OEM HUDs are, but I do expect it to project at least speed and directions. Thanks in advance.

I've not heard of an aftermarket HUD (not a bad idea, but I imagine it would be incredibly expensive to install).

But, if your 3IS doesn't have these features, you can go to the aftermarket and get lane departure warning and front collision warning for approx $1K installed:

Pioneer makes an aftermakret HUD that fit their car stereos (needs the pioneer navi system to work)
So this does excist, but cost a lot of money and will be very difficult to incorporate with the modern audio system of the new IS.

You can buy one from Ebay from 50 to 150 and it plugs into your OBDII.
If you want a good quality one try to find the discontinued DEFI gauge.

Thx. Will look into that. I just wish we had HUD as an option from factory.
