Default Has anyone bought the Smart Access Card?

I was wondering if this was worth getting? My dealer quoted me $496 ($431 + $65 for programming). I looked on Sewell and I could get it for like $250 with our discount. Is this something I could program myself? Or would I have to go to the dealership?

I believe you can buy the techstream cable and software and program it yourself. Youll need a computer with a 32 bit OS to do it. Doesnt work on 64 bit according to reviews. Now if youre not the tinkering type the $65 dealer fee maybe worth it vs the $27 + tinker time. But theres a LOT of customziation you can do with the techstream across Toyota/Lexus/Scion vehicles. Check out the reviews, they give a lot of good info of what you can do with it and how to get it working.

Oh Man!! This is awesome! Since the Techstream software only runs on Windows XP, I wonder if you could run it in Compatibility mode on Windows 7, or if you just have to do a virtual build of XP on Virtual Box.

Thanks for the link!
