Hey guys,

So for the most part I know a lot of 2014 IS 250/350 owners have tinted their windows. I have the auto dimming feature and 25% tint on my IS. My questions is, does tinting your windows stop or alter the auto dimming?

not really but if you run dark tint like 20% as i do, you can't really see anything behind you except headlights.. i tent to turn the auto dimming feature off just so i can see behind me.

My other car (suburban) has limo tint (5%) and the auto dimming doesnt dim at all, it doesnt pick up the light because the tint eliminates most of the lights anyway

I did 50% as the factory tint was pretty good. Probably avg out to equivalent of 35%. Auto dim still works.

Besides tint are there any shades that can be installed for rear and back windows (IS doesn't come with factory rear shade here)?

Installed 20% tint and the auto-dim still kicks in when you have some with high beams or a lot of lights behind you, like in heavy traffic, but it definitely doesn't kick in as often which is actually nice! More natural view of the rear IMO.
