Default BSM not beeping?

Hey guys, so I have the BSM on my 350 F sport and they only beep when I'm in reverse and backing up and it reads a car behind me or next to me however when I'm driving and they flash they don't beep? Aren't they supposed to beep when your driving and not just blink lol

Isn't the backup warning an additional option? I don't think my car has the backup warning. In my car, the BSM only flashes. No beeps. The purpose to to make you look at the mirror and not just turn blindly and wait for a beep. You can't be that lazy!

They don't beep when you're driving, they just blink...thank God.

The beeping when backing up is the parking assist, cross traffic alert.

It is actually a good thing that the BSM doesn't beep, just imagine driving on a busy freeway and all you hear is beep, beep, beep, beep for 50 miles or so. It does beep when i am reversing and there is cross traffic.

I was very surprised the BSM beeped when I was backing up to a stationary object. If they have "parking assist" for the rear, why can't the F Sport just get full park assist?

They only beep under specific circumstances. The blind spot monitor will only flash orange when a car is in your blind spot, but if you hit your turn signal while someone is in your blind spot, it will beep at you. Similarly, the cross-traffic alert will only beep if you're in Reverse and a car is approaching.

Not to nit-pick, but the BSM won't beep when driving with someone in the blind spot and the turn signal on. The indicator in the mirror will flash if you flip the turn signal with a car in your blind spot. The only time you get the beep is when in reverse and the BSM picks up and approaching car or person.

My BSM light in the mirror flashes when someone is in my blind spot, whether I have my signal on or not.

The only beeping I've heard has been from the cross traffic alert while in reverse.

Your BSM light should only flash when your blinker is on. When someone is just in your blind spot it should illuminate steadily.

Gotcha. I thought you meant it wouldn't come on at all without your signal. JDR76 reading comprehension = FAIL!

My BSM stopped working. Possibly at the same time I had the number of signal flashes changed from 3 to 5. Though I suppose it's another option that I accidentally unchecked -- does anybody know what that might be?

Are you sure it's not just turned off?

I suppose that's what I'm asking... where's that setting? I don't believe I've ever seen it. I guess I'll go looking for it.
