Default For those familiar with Lexus, is power train refresh likely for 2015 3IS?

Hey all for those that are familiar with Lexus life cycle, is the power train on the 3IS likely to get upgraded for 2015, how about 2016?

In this case, would you suggest lease or finance (if indeed it does refresh in 1-2 years). Thoughts?

Still thinking if I should lease vs buy... never leased before.

I think the question on the powertrain may be touched on with the link below. The lease/buy question, not so much.

with the coming release of the RC350 this is a very opportune time to release a power upgrade to the 350 engines so that the IS and GS get them in 2015. I would SERIOUSLY consider an 2015 IS350 with a power upgrade

I chose a 36 month lease on the 2014 IS. It will be up in July 2016, just in time for Lexus to upgrade the engines and add back in some of the missing options from this version.

Since they released the 2014 so early in 2013, I get the 3 year lease but only have to wait for 2 model years in between cars. Best of both worlds: I get to enjoy the 2014 while it's fresh and new, and I get to lease/buy a new one after they add the finishing touches.

Not to mention the recently announced 2.0L turbo for the LF-NX. Hopefully it makes it proliferates throughout the lineup.

We know the 2.0t is coming but not sure on the 3.5 replacement….Hoovey has stated twin turbo V-6s and V-8s are coming in the near future...

hmmm.. decisions, decisions.. leasing may be a good idea at this point for me...

Quick question on lease.. for those leasing, why would you want to choose a 2 year lease over a 3 year lease or vice versa??

If you don't plan on keeping it longer then a couple years then lease it. If you plan on keeping it then its cheaper to buy it. Also, a lot of people will lease instead of buy so they can write off the car payment.
