i've made several passes down this track myself!

i hope you realize this is denver colorado i believe the track elevation is 6,000 feet there bouts.

i see you live in MN all i can say is enjoy your oxygen, because we don't have much of it here!

as an example the best time i could get in my Z06 at this very track was 12.77 at 116 mph. the same car at sea level runs 11.6 secs quite easily
and keep in mind this was an AWD car. after youve lived here for a while you get used to it. but when i travel and rent a 4 cyl POS at your elevation any car feels fast!

One thing to note is that this was done in Colorado at 1 mile above sea level. Since the IS is naturally aspirated, it probably lost a good amount of power due to the significantly thinner air. The general equation I've read is that for every 1000 feet above sea level, you lose about 3% HP. So, a mile up, you're looking at around 15% down on peak power, which is about 260 HP. Who knows how the torque/HP curve is affected, too. I wonder if there are any videos of acceleration at sea level we can compare this to.

Either way, it's interesting to see. Thanks for posting it!

I've seen these guys do plenty of 0-60 runs on various cars...every time 1-2 seconds slower than advertised. Look on their channel; they have videos at sea level and still going slow in different cars.

Plus, traction off for an AWD is not going to do anything.

Aaah that explains it, however, I guess I'm just dissapointed Lexus didn't make any slight tune adjustments to up the HP a little.

a lot of people around here go forced induction. intakes don't do jack up here.
i supercharged my 2009 tacoma with the TRD kit, now it runs like its supposed to.
i plan on running a smaller pulley to get back the 3psi we loose at altitude. i'm looking into a quick change pulley so i can run a larger pulley if i ever plan to go to sea level.

like i said you get used to it eventually, but when i go on a trip, rent a 4 cylinder, it has more pep than our v6's in a lot of cases.

it's a % of loss about 25% therefore we get close to 230 hp out of an IS 350

we generally get slightly better MPG though as a tradeoff and because the air pressure is less 91 octane fuel is less of a necessity for us. i still use it, but you could probably get away with 87
